Farm Blog: Hey folks. Though we have officially entered into Fall, the Farm Stand will be bursting with goodies this week. This is peak season for sure. We now have, Leek, Broccolini, Carrots, Pointed Cabbage, Kohlrabi in stock along with all of our other yummy veggies waiting to nourish you. Spinach is out for this week due to some of our early plantings not doing as well as I would have liked, but there is more on the way!

In other farm news, our plantings have slowed right down at this point in the season. There are a few more plantings of Spinach and Fall Salad Mix etc but at this point if it isn’t in pretty soon, it will not mature in time before the cold hits. As I crop beds out (remove entire crop) I come in behind with a cover crop seed like Winter Rye. Winter rye will help to protect the soil from the harsh winter elements, help to retain or hang on to nutrients for next year, improve soil structure and then the bonus of have living roots in the soil has positive effects on soil biology and much more!

Finally we want to say thank you to everyone for your continued support! We know there are a lot of great farms in the area so we appreciate when you choose us.

Take care and see you at the Stand!

Cheers Dan
